May Crowning of Mary

Deacon Lou, SKt Joe Castrigno, SKt Mike Grindel, SKt Cliff Miller, SKt Lou Napolitano, SKt Bill Wirtz, Fr Dominik, SKt Francis Robacker

May Crowning is celebrated in the month of May; a statue of Mary is crowned with a wreath of flowers, and she honored as the Queen of Heaven and the Mother of God. After a procession led by Deacon Lou and Fr Dominik and followed by six members of Assembly 3292 Color Corps, prayers and hymns centered around Mary were offered, and a crown of flowers was placed on the head of the statue of Mary. May has been Mary’s month since the medieval period. It’s a time for new beginnings and the chance to begin with gratitude and devotion.

This May, the May Crowning was celebrated at St Mark the Evangelist on May 5th at 1:00 PM after the noon Mass.
